Synchro32 Report on the 2010 Investment Casting Expo and Technical
Conference held in Dearborn Michigan USA on October 10th – 12th
2010.

The 2010 ICI Expo and Technical Conference is now in the history books.  If you
have had the opportunity to attend the show in past years, you will agree with me
that the ICI, Leland Martin, and the team at ICI really know how to put on an event.
First class all the way.  Investment Casters are a different breed than other forms of metalcasting in that they tend to be more tony in their appearance and demeanour. 

Both the pre and  post receptions are well attended and are stocked with most outstanding food and libations.  Synchro32 always attends these functions in full regalia as there are sales leads to be made there. 

The 2010 show was very well attended by the metalcasting segment of investment casters and my count shows a total of 538 people either attending or exhibiting at the expo.  Simon Adlington joined Shane Allen on the Synchro32 booth and we made a number of important new sales leads and contacts.  More importantly, Synchro32 met up with a number of contacts from prior year ICI meetings.  After attending this expo for the last three years, there are a lot of familiar faces.  Most importantly of all, Simon and I got to meet up with quite a few of our existing customers.  What makes this so special is that often times it is the senior management and owners that go to the shows so we get to obtain a new perspective on how things are going and how well the software is performing.

Dearborn Michigan itself was very nice and the accommodations were most outstanding.  I had never been to Dearborn before and it is a nice city, as long as it is not in the dead of winter.  I did get to see the world’s largest tire driving down the freeway from the airport in Allen Park Michigan USA.

Plans are already underway for the 2011 58th Annual Investment Casting Expo and Technical Meeting to be held in Covington Kentucky, just outside of Cincinnati Ohio, on October 10th -11th 2011 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.  This will be an equipment expo, which is always really exciting! Synchro32 has already reserved booth# 113!  Until next year, see you on down the road at the upcoming 2011 115th instalment of the Metalcasting Congress in Schamburg Illinois on April 5th – 8th 2011.  Synchro32 will be in booth #300.
