Synchro32, a proud member of the American Foundry Society Texas Chapter, attended the monthly meeting held in Lufkin Texas. A fine meal was served at Ralph and Kacoo’s Seafood restaurant. The topic of the presentation was the coming changes in the ERCOT, Electric Reliability Council of Texas. ERCOT is shifting to nodule market distribution pricing by the end of calendar year 2010.
The presentation was given by GDF Suez. There were about forty people in attendance at the meeting from all over Texas and Louisiana. A raffle was held to auction off a CMI Workshop on Foundry Leadership Skills.
A great time was had by all in attendance. Shane Allen, Synchro32 North American Operations, attended the meeting and met up with many of his old friends and colleagues from Lufkin Industries and the now shuttered Texas Foundries - Citation Lufkin.
The next meeting of the AFS Texas Chapter will be held at Texas State University in San Macros Texas April 16-17 2010 and there will be a golf tournament at the Quail Creek Country Club.
