ICI 2014

The Investment Casting Institute 2014 meeting and exhibition in Covington Kentucky is a wrap and we have said "good bye" and "best of luck" to our dear friend Leland Martin who is retiring at the end of the year. Leland has been the editor of the INCAST magazine since its inception and has also handled all of the ICI yearly meetings. Not to fret, Leland has left INCAST and the ICI meetings in good hands with a very capable team. Synchro ERP wishes to welcome aboard Erin Almaleh who is the new editor in chief of INCAST. The ICI meetings will be headed up by Grayce, Carol, and Nora.

I spoke to Leland at length regarding his upcoming retirement plans and he and his wife plan on traveling and also extending their volunteering work in the Denton Texas area. Leland may also do some occasional work for INCAST in the future.

Chris Collins, MD/CEO, Simon Adlington, Global Implementation Manager, and myself, Head of North American Operations, manned the booth at this year's ICI Expo. We met up with many of our loyal customers and even had one of them give a testament to a sales lead on how good the software truly is and the outstanding level of support they receive.

Overall, the "traffic" at the show was noticeably less than in prior years, but I understand in talking with others that there were several other "global" investment casting shows this year that may have impacted attendance at this show. Companies have a limited amount of resources to expend on sending people to shows, so often times the foreign travel will win and foreigners may attend shows closer to home. We did meet up with a number of investment casters from around the globe and did make many important contacts.

Planning for the 2015 show is already in progress and the Synchro ERP marketing team is already hard at work on making sure booth# 230 in Schaumburg Illinois will be another smashing success! By the way, Barbara Nolan Collins, Marketing Director, Bianca Catherall, and Victoria Mahon, all deserve a well-to-do nod and tip of the hat for doing a great job on setting everything up for this year's show. It came off without a hitch!
