AFS Texas Houston January 2014

Shane Allen attends the AFS Texas Board Meeting, dinner, and program.

Important items that came out of the board meeting, of which I am proud to represent the Synchro ERP team on, included:

1. Expanding session at the March meeting which will include another Texas Trouble shooters meeting with actual hands-on foundry work, This will also be a board meeting as well
2. Plans are underway for the Corsicana meeting and State Senator Brian Birdwell will be the speaker. This meeting will also be the major education fundraiser of the year with the golf tournament.
3. September 24-26 will be a Texas Regional conference at the Hilton in Arlington. Details of this will be published after the Corsicana meeting
4. Oil City Iron Works and Dennison Industries will be presented with an award at the upcoming Metal Casting Congress.

The dinner and program at the horse track were very good. Attendance was somewhat lighter than expected, but this was expected due to the inclement weather at hand. The program covered the Houston Texas Live Stock Show and Rodeo "formerly known as the "Fat Stock Show". Eric Meyers of Oil City Iron Works has been involved in this program for many years. The Show and Rodeo raise millions of dollars each year for educational scholarships and programs.
